NExt BIg THIng

Started a new blog on blogspot. Thought I should not lose out on all the ideas I get and have to collect them all in one place.
As I had stated earlier, people are pretty conservative about their ideas. I thought of changing this (starting from myself ). So publishing my ideas to the public. If I dont make use of them the hope is atleast someone will (and hopefully credit me).

Idea by itself is worthless. I want implementations. I want to test my ideas and see how successful they become or do they get dropped soon.

The blog is named " nebithi " which is the short for NExt BIg THIng. Lets hope in this endeavour an idea for the next big thing comes up.

Do visit the blog. I will hopefully update that blog pretty often. more often than this atleast ;)

You could also contribute to that blog. If you wish to just drop me a comment.

Go check out .

My interest in biomimics seems to be growing by the day.. Its damn rare. By biomimics I mean writing software which somehow emulate the real world.. some animal behaviour..some behaviour in the biosphere brought into the cyber world.. that is what interests me..

If someone has some really good info / can refer me to a book which deals with this subject I would be glad.. even google somehow fails at producing good results.. I want to know more about what is being done.. what ppl are doing about this field and almost nothing of relevance turns up? imagine being let down by google!!!
hmmmm, im angry ..

education ruins us..

To innovate one has to find his own way to solve a problem ; To see the past solutions is to corrupt oneself. To find a new and revolutionary path people have to be allowed to find their own solutions to existing problems.. because if we are allowed the luxury of existing solutions we tend to follow it... This is the law of nature.. like electricity or charges tend to follow the path of least resistance.. we too tend to follow the path of least resistance.. So by learning more and more about a subject hampers my ability in a way to solve a problem in a more radical way..

The whole idea is like fixing bugs in a particular software.. No matter what bugs you fix.. new ones will arise.. and the solution (software) will only be as good as it was earlier + the one bug fixed.. To do something radically different.. to enable it to do something better.. the whole design has to be changed and it has to be thought of from the start..

My guess is the current problems that exist in the field of artificial intelligence are not going to be solved by someone who is a proffessor of AI in some esteemed university.. but rather will be solved by a geeky hacker who has never read a text book on AI or even better, by a biologist / neurologist..

Allow not your mind to be corrupted by education... apply what you know.. who knows .. you might be wanting to end up with a beautiful wife, a luxurious home and a leisurely time.. a nobel prize on the shelf wont hurt much.. .. aint it? :)

crap post.. dont have to read

I found recently that sarcasm is not my cup or tea or coffee or juice... Well, comedy isnt either!!
While I am on a constant quest in life to find out what I am truly interested in and where my passion and zest and zeal lies... I sit thinking.. I know people take millions of years ( over many reincarnations if you can assume) to find their true love or passion and to my own misfortune or fortune I have set upon myself this particular life as the deadline to find mine..
Most times in life I do happen to write some gibberish in my blog and more the readers the more you get influenced and start thinking should I be writing this? would this be appropriate? Would this be acceptable? Well.. heck with that thought.. I will write what I want to write and never think twice... ;)
So what is it that I wanted to write? Did I want to write something at all? was there any particular topic in my mind to write upon? I dont know. Dint think I had one before starting and writing the words " I found recently...." and even after 300 seconds of typing I still dont. My brain is weird. I wish I could go reprogram it to do certain things at certain times in life.. Like say for a started I want it to be reprogrammed to hang back my clothes on the hanger back every time in the evening I go back home..I used to throw them over the bed.. and after 2 continuous session over the past weeks of folding them all and keeping them back properly I resolved to keep my clothes back properly.. I dont know what induced that.. But seemingly it is good.. atleast its happening over this week.. so far so good.. dont know when I will go back to my old habits..

If I have to think of something else regarding which I have to reprogram my brain to do I cant think of something now like the previous one.. So I shall just continue with the flow of thought.

Over the past one year life has changed to such an extent I sometimes think back and wonder if it is the same me who had been through all this.. I was so naive and stupid earlier... ( more naive and more stupid now probably... But I guess I can intelligently hide my stupidity behind my glasses but then that is again besides the point isnt it? I believe everybody around us is stupid at some point of time or the other.. the point of time being always..

Why cant we all be just stupid and with lumps of dung in our rusted brains is what I wonder sometimes? isnt that soo peaceful? isnt that soo good to be happy? not that I am not happy now... I am.. but wont that be better? without intelligence there is no origin for question.. without a question there is no quest.. without a quest there is no search.. without a search you are stationary.. if you are stationary and if the desire is to be stationary... what else ? arent u happy? bliss..

I apologise to everyone who has managed to read this post till this point.. but dude.. dont blame me.. I wrote and obviously dint force u to read.. reading was ur choice... writing was mine.. and I am supposed to be responsible if it was all some serious crap u dint want to have in ur life at this particular point of time.. but I guess if you do read hitchhikers and get inspired u do tend to let out a lot of crap from u.. after all for any system if the input is crap the output is expected to be.. aint it?

Whats coming up?

The most important ingredient for progress is competition.. The reason we are here in this computing.. information world is because there was competition which made this whole rapid progress happen...
The competition was called as cold war.. in historic terminologies..but basically it was "competition" and that has led to us making such rapid progress in the fields of information and technology for the past few years...

The reason we are surviving in this competition so far... is because of the low cost of the rupee... But with such increase in the rupee what would happen to the indian economy. How would it affect us Indian Software professionals? That is one question that everyone should be thinking about.. Right from the CEO's of the major IT firms to the last "bench" candidates..

I wont be betting anytime in the future that the Indian rupee will become equivalent to the US $ but. just for kicks let us assume so.. In those conditions what would be the side effects on the common people? How would it affect us as an economy?

Well the first people to be affected by this steep increase in the value of rupee are the exporters. The exporters can be in any field doing exports of any kind. He/She is bound to be affected because his/her profit margin will start decreasing with the value of indian rupee going up. When we consider it this way all our software outsourcing companies would be considered as exporters..isnt it? The rupee valuation is already affecting their profitability and we have seen that in the 4th quarterly results of many big guns in india like TCS, Satyam etc.. (Infy though somehow escaped it..)

If these global IT giants are not making profits for sometime in a row either they will have to reduce the operational costs or increase their pricing. But increasing their pricing would affect their reputation as a low cost service provider and would affect their standings in winning tender calls in various deals.. which ofcouse is not a really enticing option for them. So probably an increase in valuation of rupee would mean reduction in operational profits..

If we continue to see this surge in the valuation of the indian rupee expect the recession time (atleast for the exployees) again to creep in, in india. Remember 2001? Well.. we are back. If this continues I expect Infy and TCS to either take projects and route them to their still-more-lower-cost sites like probably china and phillipines etc... or put more burden on the currently hired employees.

When I was just a kid I always wanted the indian rupee to surge above the value of a dollar.. Now seemingly after knowing the consequences I hope and wish otherwise ...

With a really booming economy on hand I hope some of our intellectual giants find a work around for this ensuing problem.. I am just a normal software engineer with just my job at stake when the value is rising.. But the guys sitting at the top have huge stakes on hand.. They need to survive.. and a popular adage says. " one who runs for his life.. runs faster " . Since these guys are running for their lives.. and life earnings. I would expect them to find a novel and really intelligent solution to this..

Would be interesting to sit and watch what is going to happen.. How "INDIA" is going to take on the world? How "we" are going to strategize our next moves? Interestingly, chess was invented in India!! So we should be master strategists..

India...unfolds..

egomaniac

Egomaniac Meme !
The rules of this meme are:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "I too am an egomaniac."

2. I respond by asking you five questions. You will answer them, because you like talking about yourself.

3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

So now I get to answer questions from sdeepthi and talk about myself :)

1) How do you want life to be, pre-planned and all under your control or with lots of uncertainties and mysteries?
I would like life to be uncertain and full of mysteries...yes.. But I would like to be able to predict what is coming also..If im not making sense.. Let me explain.. I want to see both the paths.. when I have a choice... I should be able to see what are the paths... But I should not know for sure which one I would be pushed into..

2) What other profession would you love to do, if not engineering?
I would have loved to be stock analyst / librarian / some profession that requires travelling the whole world/ professional gamer ;)

3) What do you think are the essential things in the other person for you to befriend them? Any particular turn offs?
I like people who are honest.. atleast to a degree.. guile and cunningness is a strong turn off.. I dont like people who project two different personalities at two different places..

4) Any unforgettable or funny dream you had recently?
yeah... I was standing in a raised diaz.. with a podium in front of me.. there are tens of thousands of people waiting to listen to my talk, waiting for me to release the next dividend or bonus shares..I have streaks of grey hair near my sidelocks.. ;)

5) Given a chance to direct a bollywood movie, what sort of movie would that be?
It would be a total masala movie..the villain kidnaps the guy...the girl goes in a search for him... meets some stupid guy in between.. girl turns out to be a super karate champion or something.. floors the audience with her looks and the villian with her chops ;) gets the guy out.. but in between falls in love with this stupid guy and so on....meanwhile the rescued guy has fallen in love with the villian's mona.. ;) everyone lives happily everafter :) ha ha..

Are you comfortable! (part 1)

I was travelling in the bus just like regular days. Nothing was new, it was just routine.. The green trees whizzed past and the ocassional stink of the burnt tyres grazed the senses.. I still had another 45 minutes to reach my destination.. The final stop of the bus..

I was looking out the window at the occasional milestones wishing I had a time winding device and could forward it 45 minnutes so that I dont have to feel the boredom of travelling alone in the bus. Ahhhhhh.... It was terrible. Suddenly I felt the seat next to me being taken and normally I do not even look at who is sitting but this once the fragrance in the air forced me to turn my head.

I could not literally believe my eyes. A rather well structured, fair damsel was sitting next to me. I did not do much other than stare at her for around 2 seconds and then realizing the stupidity that I was doing turned back to the window. My brain and my heart were in a conflict. While my brain asked me to look out the window my heart asked me to turn the other side. It was a battle ... a terrible one at that...

In the route that I regularly travel in, there is one stupendous attribute of every bus in the route, that I feel is worth mentioning. The route as such is laid with roads that have jagged edges eaten off by the monsoon and harsh weather. Apart from that the local bus drivers seem to have evolved a system of driving in which the brakes have become vestigial.

Well, due to the same reason the bus was rocking pretty hard and was moving like a rectangular box which had been thrown with a great force. She seemed to be a novice wrt travelling in these busses and her obvious inconvenience (either truly or because of my internal urge to start a conversation ) made me to talk.

"Are you comfortable?"
She turned, stared. There was suddenly a silence and I wished a thousand times that I had not picked a conversation. Atleast I would have had the pleasure of sitting next to her for the next 45 minutes. Now probably I should again have to get back to staring out of the window. Oh My God... Why? It seemed she would get up and go but....

She smiled. "Yeah, Im ok ".
The smile in her face blew out each and every fuse in me. It was a mystical beauty that I could not bear with my mortal eyes. I felt I would faint any time but somehow the sense in me persisted and won the battle.
I smiled back and turned again towards the window.

A huge battle was being fought internally by the urge to continue the conversation based on the support mustered by her smile and the fear of getting slapped generated by the stare. Atlast the urge won.

" So are you from Manipal? Student?".
This time luckily I dint get the stare. " Yes, I study in the medical college. How about you? "

Now that was smooth. I smiled.
"Oh, Im from Bangalore, working for NOKIA as a Software Engineer".
"Cool, Software Engineer... Hmmm. You should be making big bucks", she joked, and smiled.

"Ah, No, The companies these days have become stingy and dont pay us that well. So by the way my name is Ravi, what is your good name?"

"Gayathri Joshi"

"Nice to meet you". I smiled and turned back towards the window. The bus kept marching with the same speed, though I wished now more strongly I had that time machine. I wanted to stop it.

(part 2 to continue with due permissions ;) )

words and usage

Some days back I read a write up by chethan bhagat about the usage of words and "logic" by we engineers. It was a great write up because it reflected reality and showed circumstances where the issue arised in a pretty funny manner.

On the same lines, I was talking to one of my friends in office and since she was busy at the moment I asked her to "ping me back" when she got free. While walking back to my place I was wondering about how this word ping had become so common in our (engineers...esp software) life.
"Dude, ping me once you get home".
" I will ping you once I get free! "

such statements have become so common that I was thinking if ever I would tell my parents ( who are not computer educated) someday that I would ping them back since I was currently in a meeting or something....

Chethan Bhagat also noted certain jargon such as logic, probability etc which were being used more frequently in our day to day lives.

Apart from this.... memory has been metaphorized to a computer memory always.. the brain is the processor..

IISc first classes

Last Saturday had been to the first class on "Artificial Intelligence and Programming" in IISc. We are being taught by a madam who goes by the name Dr. Anasuya Devi.

It was the first class and since as she told us herself she hadnt come prepared with the mental setup to take classes today... Anyway during the scheduled class timings she did start off with her own introduction and made each of the students to introduce themselves.. That was ok and acceptable...

But what we noticed during her talks were that she was seriously eccentric... true nature of a researcher is an institution like that... Since we were discussing AI and this domain flows a bit into the Philosophical aspects of life.... she constantly used to drift into the philosophy of life and related teachings ...which would to an untrained mind in the segment would look highly inappropriate to the proceedings at hand...

It is no wonder even if ppl thing that way since she was capable of drifting from AI to brain drains to choosing life partners... So we did truly cover a lot of areas in the true literal sense ;) But probably that is the way she teaches... She drifts I agree but as I had read somewhere true learning happens when the stability in a particular understanding is destabilized so that new learnings have to be made to bring things back to stability... She seemed to be a person who did exactly that...

Anyway these are the first impressions... We still need to know more about her and her teaching styles :) Life becomes interesting... To study the machine and its intelligence we first need to understand humans.. since it is them that the machine is emulating :)

trip

Embarking on a long trip this weekend. We (me, adarsh, shashi, thejasvi and sahana) are going to adarsh's place i.e kumta. That bugger has been avoiding his birthday party from the past 4 years. His birthday falls on the 28th of Jan and since 26th is a holiday he makes it a point to go home at this time for basically 2 reasons as we know ;)
1) He can avoid treating us.
2) He can be with his parents etc etc..

though we think its more so because of the stingy bugger that he is ;) anyway this time we decided to follow him down to his own house and get a treat out of him... and hence the story began... Apart from this thing another interesting thing is that we are going in an express bus (we dint find reservations in any rajahamsa or private :) ).. So another great experience... long time it has been since I travelled in one and the icing on the cake being the journey takes more than 10 hrs :)

All in all we are scheduled for one big adventure this weekend.. what with all the sceneries and beaches we are going to visit in and around kumta.. Probably the adventure will start right from the point where I will leave home because there will be a lot of people who would be interested in reaching majestic today and there is going to be one hell of a traffic jam... anticipatedly...

hmm..noDoNa.

puna bandmele idara bagge visthaaravagi barithini... enaru interesting vishaya adre mathra :)

Killer Thought!!!!

I dint know there were some meeting groups and activities for mobile as a platform as well... I came to know of its existence only when I visited Barcamp 2.0 this year..... What happened was during the Barcamp event we met up with two people from the MobileMonday (which is something like Linux Users Group but is for mobiles) and kiruba did a podcast there with all of us..

This thing proceeded further and yesterday NOKIA hosted a Mobile Monday in our premises here... The topic of the talk was "One Killer Thought, Two Killer Apps, Three Killer Trends" by some big shot from Sasken... Sorry I am bad with remembering names :)

The thought he tried to portray was something like "We currently have the same processing power, same everything including memory etc etc on the handsets as we did or regular PC's in 1995.....
In the developed countries since most people are accustomed to the internet, we would need to find ways to present the same material to them with this new interface and this is a challenge....
But consider countries like India where the handset penetration is so huge that one in every 2 person (according to stats) has access to a mobile compared to 1 in every 25 has access to PC..... and the greatest advantage here is that people are not at all exposed to the internet... and we have the base of the pyramid here since most people are poor.... So what can we cater to them through the mobile phones...
There will be something they need... something they want desperately and are seeking it silently... what is this thing?
We the next generation enterpreneurs have to think and come up with solutions to people...

The two example applications that he wishes to enunciate are mobile tv and mobile banking.... These are currently not deployed expansively because of constraints of a proper channel of distribution and a proper business model... When someone comes up with ways to solve this issue... We have a multi million dollar industry per say...
Mobile Banking is yet another thought which when deployed makes life easier... We can do a lot of things using our mobiles... there are still more thoughts and avenues to be exposed and brought to the public domain...

Seemingly the only constraint for this not to happen is the huge diversity which exists in the whole technology... There is no one single standard handset/hardware like in the PC market where Windows/Intel combine command a market share of 85%. Apart from that there is the other problem that the underlying network and the traffic is owned by the operators and service providers ( AirTel, Hutch, BSNL) while this underlying network is completely free and not owned by anyone in the case of PCs (Internet)....
These problems make it difficult to use the same business models that exist already... Hence new business models need to be generated if a product has to make a profit...

The inherent diversity and no standardization in the market makes it difficult to cater to the needs of the people as software products deployed on the individual handsets... The best way then to deploy the answer to some need is by giving it as a service (like in the web 2.0).... But again to deploy it as a service we need to depend on Service Providers who would influence a lot of issues like pricing and the business model etc.... So the problem we are facing is not an easy one....
Just need to see who will bell this cat with a good business model and we will see so many different things coming to the mobiles in another 3-4 years that.... It will change the way we do things..

Arent we seeing the Next Big Thing in the making?

Singing and pronunciation

The perfectionist... that is what I would like to call him....

Stupendous and absolutely great....

Listen to this. Sonu nigam singing a kannada song... I dont know how much kannada he knows but his pronunciations are so flawless that I was not even sure if it was sonu nigam singing though the song had all the signs of it being him... When finally I checked that it was him... I was amazed ...

Hats off to this perfectionist :)

hmm...change

I sometimes am amazed at the turn of events... yes only sometimes..
When people see different things standing at different corners then obviously it means they see things differently. It is bound to happen.. If you stand in your place and think that how come I who am standing here thought about it differently then seriously you should know the basics of your life...

What matters to people, what their priorities are also changes at different instance s in time... It keeps changing... That is why the popular saying that change is the only thing that is constant in life....

Finally at last I can see the things in the right light.... It is time tested (virtually in everything they do) that Apple comes out with some of the best and the slickest User Interfaces in anything.... They are the pioneers in pushing the challenge to the next level...

I happened to go through the features and the working of Apples iPhone and good Gods does it look awesome!!!!

When the fact sunk into my head I thought "What the hell? These people make the best products around as far as I have seen but still what is keeping them from being the giants like microsoft is! Why dont they get the majority in the market share? "

Then it dawned on me that even if Microsoft doesnt come up with some of the slickest and the most wonderful technologies by itself it is really good at marketing its products... So the conclusion drawn for all of us should be that even if you are not able to create stunning products which people will think will sell by itself... you can create products that are just good enough and market it so good that Heck even your grandpa somehow ends up with it someday....

Apple will surely add another feather to its cap with this phone :)

and a renewal of my membership as its fan ..

Happy New Year Everyone :)

Though I have not been a regular blogger I have popped in something or the other in the past one year... Even this new year I will probably continue to do the same (I guess).
Though an active philosopher to most people I know around I havent done much work in the blogging world regarding this. When some days back someone asked me why dont I start writing all my philosophies on the blog I started thinking! I tend to have a philosophy for everything ;) Even sometimes good enough to teach my mom something. I do make some cogent arguments based on these and dont usually leave people much to argue about. But when I did a self-analysis I found that most of my philosophies and statements as such (which my office colleagues make mince meat of ) pop out only in the right context.

Life is changing and so are the people around. Its actually fun to see the dynamics embedded in this world with a completely detached and out of the world view, something completely objective. People around me wonder and sometimes bet against each other to make me angry ;) - and I consider this a compliment because as Harish said some days back......
When you react to something and get angry it means that you are not in control of the situation...you are losing control.... But on the other hand if you dont react the way people usually do and stay calm.. you tend to think more objectively and things are in YOUR control :) looking at the world around you in such a perspective makes it easier for you to be much more in control of things than if you stay back in your shoes and think.

Wii will rock you!

The new buzz in the world of gaming is called a Wii. Until recently there was nothing new in this dimension of the world. Except for every year companies would churn out newer and better graphic games which would test your graphics card to the limits possible. Sometimes the graphics card would wry in pain, agonize itself to perdition but that is beside the point...

People (in the gaming industry) had stopped thinking fun and had taken it upon themselves to render ultra-realistic scenes on the computers. The result - wacky graphics and considerably acceptable story-lines but a menial fun factor.
Guy Kawasaki (is the name spelled right!?) says that true innovation comes when people think outside the current innovation curve. When you think outside the current innovation curve you tend to create a non existent market, a non existent use-case, a non-existent existence.... People at Nintendo seemed to have done the same. They have come up with a new design for a console that is probably set to change the way people are going to play games in the future.
Another factor that is compelling me to promote this techno-marvel for no personal gain is the factor of price. Instead of overpricing it, like apple does in most of their next-gen style electronic accessories, they have tried to keep the prices as low as possible. At $250, even an average person whose primary concern may be to just look after his subsistence can atleast dream of buying this one day.

I know I haven't given you an explanation or even any inkling as to why I am so much gung ho about this Wii thing. There are a few things in this world that need to be seen first hand for yourself to have an overbearing effect. This as you have guessed already is one of them.... and if a 'wow' doesn't escape inadvertently.. I don't know what to say.... How stoic can you be!
Wii will, Wii will rock you!!

Astala Vista.

Thinking thrice before posting!!!

There has been one idea that has been giving me positive vibes about its potential to be a success. I understand that ideas mean nothing and finally its the execution that matters but its my belief that its the idea that draws the crowd and the execution that makes them stick... So technically anyone can open up an idea see if it draws enough attention and then if it really does then go on with your best execution possible....

I am planning to open up this idea to the general public to just bounce support and criticisms to and fro. I know most of my blog readers are not my customers but still I just want to see a different viewpoint. In certain circles this opening up of my ideas may be considered as profligate but I feel that if I am not comfortable doing it, will the people coming in be! I know you are finding this to be pretty nonsensical so far but probably my explanation further on will put things into a better perspective.

The idea is to support venturesome people with an idea to start something new on a wild hunch... I want such people to post their ideas and how it is going to work, all the specific details that they find as relevant at my webpage.. Basically I want them to sell their ideas...Best would be to have a small working prototype.... and plan out improvements and enhancements and provide feature lists that their page is going to provide to this prototype... the more enticing and enthralling the better...
My site ofcourse is based on the producer consumer based interactions... Ofcourse it is pretty much evident who the producers are in this particular case.... It has to be the budding enterpreneurs... Who is the consumer you ask! Well its the whole set of general public who want to find new inventive stuff to come up in this world.... and are interested in some particular interesting / inventive / innovative stuff to come up... Every person cannot come up with something brilliant.... but I assure you they have the capabilities to identify one when one surfaces...

Like digg each idea will recive a vote.... and depending on the votes that the particular idea recieves the budding enterpreneurs can show possible venture capitalists a market for their product/ service.

A small FAQ like structure follows (with questions that I anticipate being answered):

But do you think people are going to submit their ideas here?

I seriously dont know... But seriously there is no danger with the idea being published....No one is going to steal it as far as I can see. If someone does then heck you can compete with them since you are the originator... A 100 people can enter the competition... but eventually its the one who has the best innovations and an intuitive, affable interface and design who wins...
I have a few more ideas...maybe we can provide them a hosting space clubbed with this at a reduced cost... or we could host the pages for them... for the prototype i.e.. for say a period of one month... I dont know.. I havent still thought over this issue... clubbing of traffic (digg effect like!) and hosting space is a pretty good idea meanwhile... :) Maybe I should point you to go here. And read the popular myths there

Ok.. So what pulls possible voters for this!

I think probably to find out about possible upcoming technologies and ideas! Like you want to go to slashdot and digg for technology news.. What you might find here will be a technology playground.... a school of possible next gen technology giants in their sprouts....
There is ofcourse another idea that I want to include in this... i.e the possibility of making these prospective voters as the angel investors / to get micro funding out of them with assured returns from the enterpreneurs... But this might be a future enhancement to my site... It requires a lot of things to be dealt with like possibly handling credit cards/ payments etc which will involve a lot of security issues... Buts its a possibility... Wouldnt you want to buy 10 shares of the future google when it is still in the garage?!!!

But will people really come!!

I know this is a risky proposition...ofcourse not for me but for people who might want to post their ideas or prototypes.... My feeling is that people are excessively critical of themselves.. and who better to judge if a possible idea is going to work or not than the general public itself!
By doing what I am doing I am encouraging more and more people to think and chase more wild ideas... each wild idea can be backed or dropped by the public depending on how the idea is presented and how interesting the idea itself is.... ofcourse the implemenation details need not be disclosed!!

But what if I think of a great product, put it on your site and tomorrow google comes up with a better version.

Its my belief that if google or microsoft can come up with a better version of what you have done then they would have been working on it from earlier or they would jump to your market eventually even after you release it... If you cant handle competition why do you want to enter the race anyway!

So what is it that you are looking forward from us!

Nothing just your suggestions.... improvements... thoughts!!! Anything that you think is going to help.

What was the thought behind this idea of yours!

Well, being a self confessed wannabe enterpreneur I am in a constant lookout for ideas. I read a lot in various fields over the net... I tend to get influenced a lot by various happenings and innovations.. My brain whenever idle is in a constant lookout for a way to enhance somebodies life... somebody...is anybody... I not only consider the usability of the idea but also how to market it! market potentials are important as well for an idea to succeed. I have read a thousand articles on startups.... Top 10 ways to make them suceed... HOw not to start a startup! What are the essential ingredients? Top 18 things not to do in a startup.. etc etc and there might be plenty more....Check out the current list of startup writings and how they fare in delicious or digg and you will know what I mean.... It is my belief as well as paul grahams that this budding startups sufacing in every nook and corner of the world after this revolutionary web 2.0 boom is a new market potential that still is untapped... He has started tapping a cetain small segment of this by starting Y combinator but that still does not indulge with the masses who are interested in this segment.

My website ( which is still in a nascent "idea" state ) is intended to do the following things:
1) Make prospective enterpreneurs know at a very early stage that there is a market for their product or service...
2) Show realistically in certain circumstances the interest for their product... ( In certain circumstances probably an idea which might be catering to a niche market might be sidelined because the visitor base in this site may not be inclined for that product....)
3) Give an easy measure for the venture capitalists to make contributions based on market demands for the product...
4) Convert offhand visitors and voters into possibly micro funding investors.....
5) Maybe allow venture capitalists to contact possible enterpreneurs with funding details... ( wouldnt you like to hear from a venture capitalist that he wants to fund your idea? Instead of you going on to beg for his kind consideration!!)

This is ofcourse one of those niche market in one perspective.... (Thinking in terms of the enterpreneurs) but it might be scaled to the whole general public...

I want your comments ladies and gentlemen.. what you think, what you feel etc..... I am ready to take both the replies "Its ludicrous" and "Its brilliant" in the same stride..

May the force be with you.
